It has to be said that The Principal in York is now one of my favourite wedding venues!

I knew from when I first met these two that their wedding was going to be gorgeous. Bridal prep was super chilled out and lovely. It was so special to see Natalie getting ready and becoming a bride! And with her bestie Milly by her side the whole time for moral support.

We were all spying on the boys arriving from the bridal suite, and very soon it was time for the big moment! Natalie was ready in her dress, the room was set out beautifully, and the guests were all seated and ready to go.

After the all-important ‘I do’s and a mountain of confetti, all the guests gathered on the stairs for photographs. Now, I have to just take a second the talk about these stairs at The Principal. I know I sound ridiculous, but this staircase was just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! Just look at the photos.. honestly I’m in love! With a staircase!!

Once the group photos were finished, there was another little surprise for the bride and groom. Natalie’s mum had booked a wedding car in secret to take them to York Minster, which was where Natalie & Alex met for their first date! We hopped in the car, and whilst there were SOOOOO many tourists at the minster, we managed to get some lovely photos of the happy couple.

After some amusing speeches from Alex, his best man and new father-in-law, everyone got their dancing shoes on. Natalie & Alex had prepared the most GORGEOUS first dance – it really was beautiful.

These two really are such a wonderful couple, and it’s been a pleasure to capture such a lovely story. And now I get to relive it all again when maid of honour Milly becomes a bride herself in 2020!
